TRUPTI Araithu Vitta Sambar RECEIPE

:

This serves 4 people:   

1. Mix 2 teaspoons of tamarind paste, ¾ teaspoon of salt, and ¼ teaspoon of asafoetida (optional) in ½ liter of water, and then boil this liquid for 10 minutes.

2. Cook vegetables like drumsticks and radish separately, and add to the above liquid.

3. Add 3 teaspoons of the  

T R U P T I  Brand Araithu Vitta Sambar Powder.

4. After 5 minutes, add 2 cups of cooked toor dal to the above liquid 

5. Sauté ¼ teaspoon of mustard seeds and ¼ teaspoon of fenugreek seeds in 1 ½ teaspoon of sesame oil and add it to the above sambar liquid.

6. Add curry leaves and chopped coriander leaves.

Your Araithu Vitta Sambar is now ready!  

Our Araithu Vitta Sambar Powder can also be added to curries, vegetable dishes, soups, or stews in different proportions to suit your taste!

Storage and usage Instructions

 

Keep refrigerated in an airtight container after opening the package. Use a clean and dry spoon. 

Ingredients

 coriander seeds, chana dal, red chilies, coconut, fenugreek seeds, black peppercorns, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, sesame oil, asafoetida 

OTHER TRUPTI SAMBAR POWDER RECIPES

TRUPTI RAVA KITCHADI

1. Roast a cup of rava (semolina/sooji) using half a teaspoon of ghee on low flame for about 3 minutes and keep aside

2. Roast the following using 2 tablespoons of oil on low flame till golden brown.

  • Mustard seeds ½ teaspoon
  • Urad dal 1 teaspoon
  • Chana dal 1 teaspoon
  • Cashew nuts 5 nos.  (broken into small pieces)
  • Asafoetida a pinch

3. Then add 

  • Chopped onion 1 no.
  • Chopped ginger ⅓ inch cube
  • Cut green chili 1 no.
  • Curry leaves one sprig

4. Saute till the onion turns golden brown.

5. Now add 

  • Chopped tomato 1 no.
  • Diced carrot 1 no.
  • Cut green beans 6 nos.
  • Handful of green peas

and saute well.

6. Then add 

  • Salt to taste
  • Turmeric powder 1 teaspoon
  • TRUPTI Sambar powder 1.5 teaspoons

and saute well.

7. Add a little water and close the vessel and cook for about 3 minutes until the vegetables are well-cooked.

8. Then add 2.5 cups of water. When the water comes to a boil, add the rava and chopped coriander leaves and close the vessel.

9. Cook for 5-8 minutes, stirring from time to time.

10. Finally add a teaspoon of ghee and mix well. Serve hot with coconut chutney. 

TRUPTI SEMIYA KITCHADI

 

 Replace one cup of Rava with one cup of Semiya (vermicelli) in the above recipe. Semiya kitchadi is ready using TRUPTI Sambar Powder!  

TRUPTI VEGETABLE RICE

 

Follow steps 2-7 above. 

8.     Add 1 cup of cooked Basmati rice , a teaspoon of ghee and chopped coriander leaves. Gently toss the rice and vegetables together. Turn off the flame. Vegetable rice is ready using TRUPTI Sambar Powder! Serve hot with appalam or vadaam or chips.
